The Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) will become a mark that recognises all professionals working in project management including project and programme managers and specialists such as planners, risk managers and project controllers

The name positions project professionals alongside professionals from industries such as IT, Quality Management and Engineering. It will also allow APM, in the future, to licence the register to other bodies, allowing applicants to register as Chartered Project Professionals and remain a member of their own professional institute

Applicants will demonstrate suitability by:

• completing a competence assessment
• providing evidence of current and relevant CPD
• submitting a CV and references including a personal statement
• completing a peer group interview
• signing up to a Code of Conduct

Organisational Chartered status awarded to APM is expected Mid-2009 and implementation of a Register of Chartered Project Professionals Mid-2010
